EO traveled St. John's elementary school where we taught the children about giving back to their community. The kids created festive cards to give to a local retirement home. The event was a huge success and both EO and the kids had a great time. Thank you to everyone who came out!
EO Ice Cream Social

Our first social of the year was a lot of fun! We had a good member turnout and were able to enjoy Creamery ice cream on Old Main Lawn. If helping underprivileged children and eating ice cream are two things you’re passionate about, Empower Orphans is definitely the club for you! Come out to our next meeting!
Knock Out Poverty Dodgeball Tournament

The dodgeball tournament was a huge success!! It was held on Saturday April 23rd in the White Building, and there was an impressive turn out for our first year hosting it! The championship game was very exciting, with the club dodgeball team coming out on top in the 3rd game. Under Armour generously donated prizes to each member of the winning team including a drawstring bag, water bottle, and hat to each player. We hope to host an even bigger tournament next year!
Cafe 210 Fundraiser

Thank you so much to all who came out to the Cafe fundraiser and especially to Summit Park Communities for making this night possible! All who went received 3 free drink tickets and all the proceeds went to Empower Orphans. Cafe night is already set up again for next year!!
Hershey Trip

As the year came to a close, Empower Orphans wanted to do one more community outreach event. Immediately, Penn State Hershey’s Children Hospital came to mind. After a month of coordinating and organizing the event, five members of EO spent an afternoon making felt blankets with the children’s center. EO brought the fabric, and then each member helped a child tie the pieces of fabric into a unique blanket. It was a memorable experience, and EO is excited to re-visit the Penn State Hershey’s Children Hospital this coming semester!
Giving Tree Book Drive
November/December 2015
Thank you to everyone who so generously donated books to our book drive!! We were able to bring a plethora of books to an elementary school outside of Philadelphia. The school was immensely thankful for our donations to them.
